Two different experiments I ran - on the left, the AI translates a handwritten document from archaic Catalan to English without context, on the right it looks at a picture I took and gave suggestions for improving it.
GPT-4 with vision was able to do this despite not being connected to the internet and having no metadata on the photo location. Faces blurred for privacy (except me), but GPT-4 was given the unblurred version.
For both images, I selected the best example out of several images generated by the AI. In some cases the words or figures were distorted. This definitely isn’t something that works perfectly every time.
